Cyber Essentials Supply Chain Managed Service

Gain visibility of Cyber Essentials adoption across your supply chain and meet Cyber Resilience Pledge requirements

The UK Government's Cyber Resilience Pledge encourages organisations to strengthen cyber security not only within their own business, but throughout their supply chains.   One of the Pledge commitments is to ensure that a comprehensive audit of Cyber Essentials coverage has been conducted across your entire supply chain and to actively promote Cyber Essentials certification amongst suppliers.

For many organisations, this presents a significant challenge.  Supply chains can consist of hundreds or even thousands of suppliers, making it difficult to identify which organisations are certified, track certification status over time, and support suppliers that need to achieve certification.

URM's Cyber Essentials Supply Chain Managed Service provides a complete end-to-end solution.  We help you understand your current position, engage suppliers on your behalf, support non-certified suppliers through the certification process, and maintain an accurate view of Cyber Essentials coverage across your supply chain.

The result is a simpler, more efficient way to meet your Cyber Resilience Pledge commitments while driving stronger cyber security standards throughout your supplier network.

How it Works

1. Supply chain audit

We begin by reviewing your supplier population and identifying which suppliers currently hold Cyber Essentials certification and which do not.

This allows you to establish a clear picture of current Cyber Essentials coverage across your supply chain, as well as demonstrate that a comprehensive audit has been conducted.

2. Supplier engagement

We contact suppliers that do not currently hold Cyber Essentials certification and explain your organisation's requirements and expectations.

Our team acts as a central point of contact, reducing the administrative burden on your procurement and supplier management teams.

3. Certification support

Not every supplier is at the same stage of their cyber security journey.  We offer a range of support options designed to help suppliers achieve Cyber Essentials certification, from straightforward guidance through to more comprehensive consultancy-led assistance.

As one of the UK's leading Cyber Essentials specialists, we provide a wide range of guidance and advisory services, supported by practical resources including blogs, podcasts and webinars.  These help suppliers understand the certification requirements, avoid common pitfalls and prepare for assessment with greater confidence.

4. Certification assessment

As an accredited Cyber Essentials Certification Body, URM can conduct Cyber Essentials assessments for your suppliers, providing a streamlined route from supplier engagement through to certification.

5. Ongoing monitoring & reporting

We maintain an up-to-date record of supplier certification status and provide ongoing visibility of coverage across your supply chain.

This ensures you always have access to accurate information and can demonstrate progress against your Cyber Resilience Pledge commitments.

The Benefits

Reduce the burden on procurement teams

Managing supplier certification status can become a significant administrative task. We take ownership of supplier engagement, tracking and reporting, freeing your team to focus on supplier relationships and commercial priorities.

Support Cyber Resilience Pledge commitments

Demonstrate that you have conducted a comprehensive audit of Cyber Essentials coverage and are actively promoting certification throughout your supplier ecosystem.

Gain clear visibility

Understand exactly where your supply chain stands, identify gaps in coverage, and track progress over time through regular reporting and management information.

A complete end-to-end solution

Unlike traditional certification providers, URM combines supply chain administration, supplier engagement, certification support and certification assessment within a single managed service.
