Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus – How Recent Changes May Affect Your Organisation

As cyber security attacks continue to develop both in prevalence and sophistication, it is essential that organisations implement appropriate measures to protect their IT environment.  Cyber Essentials, a UK government-backed certification scheme, provides a framework of such measures, with its five technical control areas enabling organisations to safeguard against 80% of the most common cyber threats and meet the Government’s recommended baseline of cyber security protection.  

Whether your organisation is looking to obtain certification for the first time or recertify to the scheme, staying up to date with its requirements is vital for maintaining compliance.  This is particularly relevant now in light of the updated Cyber Essentials Question Set – Willow, which came into effect on 28 April 2025 and introduced a number of changes to the scheme.
