This year we have decided to take a different approach to sending our URM Christmas calendars. As such, we have gone ‘digital’ and will be making a donation of both time and money.
2020 has been a year that none of us had planned, imagined or hoped for and has been challenging for so many, both professionally and personally. Yet we have learnt a lot, developed new skills and shown greater empathy and understanding. What has had a massive impact on everyone at URM this year, and particularly during lockdown, has been the transition of our weekly newsletter into a ‘live’ experience with a weekly conference call and quiz which all of the team have participated in. This has become the focal point of the week for us all, to catch up, share stories, have some light-hearted fun with a quiz and gain amazing recommendations in TV/film (and genres!) we wouldn’t previously have considered or even heard of.
This has focused our minds on the value of support so, this year, we have teamed up with Trussell Trust and will be supporting a number of food banks local to our office and our Team around the UK. It is important to us that we aren’t ‘just’ making a donation, but will be working with foodbanks to understand their needs and making sure we help provide and deliver food ourselves, not just in the run-up to Christmas, but into the New Year when interest and donations wane. This week, for example, we’ve been shopping and will be delivering a hamper of requested essentials to a local food bank.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your support during 2020 and we look forward to working with you in 2021. Wishing you and yours a fabulous festive period from all at URM and hoping that 2021 sees a return to ‘normality’, taking the lessons, skills and understanding we have learnt this year with us, and brings you good health and happiness.
